This is a much better quality book than I was told at the time. It's a hard covered book with 280 pages. A lot of reading and a lot of pictures that have never been published before. The main theme is as the title of the book says. The whole idea, the Italian prototypes, the Jensen prototypes and the first 6000 P1800s built. It is full of history and would make great reading for anyone with an 1800 or an interest in this car. Volvo Sweden made their archives available to the authors who were given a lot of help in writing this book.

Leather interior, low kilometers, just serviced
Purchased just over a year ago this Volvo has been a great, comfortable luxury car. We’re selling because I had the chance to buy my father’s Toyota Hilux for a price I really couldn’t refuse.
With the intention of keeping it for a long time we originally spent a bit of money on it to get it tip top:

- 120000km major service done (which it was overdue for) including new timing belt, timing tensioner and timing idler
- new tie rod ends, rack ends, steering rack
- new front tires and wheel alignment (rear tires are near new)
- new rear shock absorbers and mounts
- new electronic throttle body, and
- the 150000km service done this week plus the Safety Certificate.

It’s got a Nokia hands free kit with speaker and car cradle, which should connect to other mobile phones that have Bluetooth (it does to my iPhone).

Condition inside is great, just some shallow scratch marks on the door trim you can see only in certain light (I think it was from previous owners’ dog). But the leather seats, carpet and other interior looks really good just general minor wear. I really like the wood grain dash and the dual cup holder in the centre console. It also has a very handy built in fold down child booster seat in the middle back seat (15 – 36kg, ages 3 and up). Electric windows, mirrors, and child lock.

Independent climate control for driver and passenger. On the outside the paint is in really good condition, minor scratches or marks here and there and a blemish on the front left bumper, also the mags were scrubbed when we bought it.

We’ve got the owner’s manual and stamped service booklet plus most of the receipts for the work we’ve paid for; it comes with its own jack and a spare wheel. Only 153359 kilometers on the clock and running just great, no money needs to be spent here she’s ready to go and a pleasure to drive.
