Body
No rust Canberra car which has been garaged since I have owned it.
Colour is dark blue/grey. Complete bare metal respray in 1992 by
Tony Farrugia Body Works. Mercedes Benz 2 pack enamel. Is still in
great condition apart from a couple of scratches and tiny dents.

top.
Interior paint as per outside. Front seats from 1965 car. Rear seats
original. Door trims and top lining original but ok.
Wheels are Performance 15x6JJ Minilite style mags. Original wheels,
hubcaps and trims are included.
The car presents very well and took pride of place at the Geelong 40th
anniversary rally in 2001. Also best modified at Tamworth in 1989.
Mechanical
The motor was completely rebuilt by Chris Halford [The Porsche
specialist] in 1995.It has travelled approx 10000 miles since. It
goes very well and has very good tractibility.Fully balanced to
7000rpm plus. High performance camshaft. Modified head and valve
system. Lightened flywheel. 45mm DCOE Webber carburetor. Extractor
exhaust system .Large capacity sump with remote filter. Output is
approx 130 bhp which allows the car to perform quite well and cruise
at high speed on longer trips [where permitted]. The gearbox was
overhauled at the same time with new bearings fitted. The
differential was overhauled approx 8 years ago and replaced with a
ratio which allows the car to cruise at 110kph at 4000rpm approx.
The suspension has been completely overhauled, lowered and has Koni
adjustable shocks. The brakes are discs to the front and drums to
the rear with a pressure limiter fitted to the rear. All wheel
cylinders and master cylinder are stainless steel lined.
Electrical
Converted to 12 volt system with halogen headlights and high output
generator. Later model tail light assemblies fitted.
Spares
2x B16B motors dismantled. One of these was built by Gerry Lister
for Clubman racing but never raced. Ring, bearing and gasket sets.
All original parts including generator, front drums/axles, water
pumps, twin SU setup with original oil bath air cleaner. One 1965
boot lid.
Registration
3 months ACT registration. MY 122S plates negotiable.
Summary
This car is a very good little sporting sedan awaiting a new owner
who will appreciate the way it has been modified and looked after. A
little money and time spent on the interior will bring it up to top
class. All original parts except the front seats and steering wheel
are included in the package.
The deal
I am prepared to do a deal with a buyer who has a very good 242GT as
part or full exchange. Otherwise $ 10,000 is the asking price which
is reasonable considering the improvements made over the years and
spares included in the package.
